The Proceedings book would be published as a part of the ASP Conference Series (ASPCS). The Scientific sessions constituted 18 invited talks, 47 contributed talks, and 61 poster presentations. We have worked out the number of pages that we can accommodate, under each category of papers, keeping in mind the size of the book and its cost. Kindly note the page limits:
Invited talk:........maximum of 12 pages,
Contributed talk:..maximum of 6 pages,
Poster paper:.......maximum of 4 pages.
We hope that all of you contribute your papers, and make the SPW5 Proceedings, yet another landmark source book, matching the previous Proceedings volumes of the SPW Series of Workshops.
December 15, 2007 January 1st, 2008
is the deadline to submit your papers to the Proceedings.
With co-operation from all of you, it is possible to get the Proceedings
volume published in time.
Please download from http://www.aspbooks.org/author_information the set of files called "authors' Information". Please follow the instructions given in this ASP Conference Series web page. (especially refer to the section 1: Letter to the authors by the ASPCS staff). Those instructions explain how to prepare the MS using the ASPCS style file (asp2006.sty). For a template LaTex file however, you can use the SPW5 template.
You can download a template file spw5_sample.tex which the authors may use as a template file, so that there is a uniformity of style. The .tex file of the sample and a .eps figure are available at:
http://www.irsol.ch/spw5/proceedings/spw5_sample.tex
http://www.irsol.ch/spw5/proceedings/spw5_sample_fig1.eps
Before submitting, please follow the author checklist given by the publisher of ASPCS.
Please give some extra care towards the line drawings, images in color (or B/W), and convince yourself about the quality of reproduction after compiling (margins, contrast, layout etc.). If you have Figures in color, please check whether its quality is satisfactory after being included in the .tex file and printed in B/W (which is the default).
The ASPCS follow the bibliographic style very similar to that of ApJ. We have an option to conform to our preference. Please follow the ApJ main journal style in all respects, when preparing the bibliography. The information on the ApJ style for the bibliography is available at: http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/page/apj/instruct.html#1.13.2
You can request the instructions by email here.
