Title: Observing programs at IRSOL of the Second Solar Spectrum
Authors: M. Bianda, R. Ramelli
Form: invited
Abstract: The IRSOL observatory history is closely related to Second Solar Spectrum observations: 1963 Br\"uckner observed scattering polarization in the Ca~{\sc{i}} 4227~{\AA} line, other lines were investigated in the 70s. In the 90s the ZIMPOL system, a polarimeter allowing unprecedented polarimetric precision, was installed at IRSOL by the Institute of Astronomy in Zurich and constantly upgraded to state-of-the-art technologies. It allowed and still allows an intensive observing program. Data of the first two volumes of the Second Solar Spectrum atlas were measured here. A summary will be presented of the current observing programs, mostly addressed to detect and diagnose signatures evolving with time as well as unforeseen behavior in scattering polarization lines.
