Title: A brief history of the Second Solar Spectrum
Authors: C.U. Keller
Form: talk
Abstract: The development of the ZIMPOL principle at ETH led to a dramatic increase in our knowledge of the scattering polarization spectrum close to the solar limb, now known as the Second Solar Spectrum. I will provide a brief history of this recent area of solar physics with a special focus on the events between 1994 and 1996 when many interesting things happened that have not been published.
